New Balance ‘Reconsidered’ Offers Discounted Used Shoes

New Balance Reconsidered

New Balance have subtly launched ‘Reconsidered’, a circular consumer platform that extends the life of products that have been gently used or can’t be sold as new.

There are several ways NB will source these sneakers, but from looking at their website it seems the main way is through trade ins via the general public. At the moment, NB are accepting men’s and women’s general release footwear that is functional and clean, with no major damages such as scratches, holes or creasing. All items that are traded in are examined, and sometimes cleaned, by third party company Tersus Solutions.

Shoes that aren’t accepted as part of the reconsidered program will not be given back, they will instead of be donated to not-for-profit organisation Soles4Souls. Pairs that are accepted will be graded as either ‘Like New’, ‘Excellent’ or ‘Good’, and the person who traded in their sneakers will be awarded with a voucher that could be up to 25 per cent of the MSRP. There’s a wide offering already on New Balance’s ‘Reconsidered’ website, which also includes MADE in USA product with healthy discounts.

This is a great initiative from New Balance, although the ‘Reconsidered’ platform is only available in the United States so far. If you are located in America, peruse the range at the link below.
