Neymar 'No Longer' with Nike: Is a PUMA Deal in the Works?

Brazilian football superstar Neymar has ended his long-term deal with Nike, after reportedly choosing to not renew his contract after 15 years with the brand.

Nike signed Neymar when he was just 13 years old, but it has been confirmed that the now 28-year-old Paris Saint-Germain striker is no longer part of Team Swoosh.

‘I can confirm Neymar is no longer a Nike athlete,’ said Nike spokesperson Josh Benedek in an email to AFP.

There are rumours circulating that Neymar could be in talks with PUMA for his next mega sponsorship deal. However, the German brand is yet to confirm whether they have plans to sign the Brazilian. In the meantime, it is expected that Neymar will still game Nike cleats and apparel until another deal is finalised.

At present, both PSG and the Brazilian National Team are fitted out with Nike kits.

Over the past decade, Neymar has worked on various projects with Nike, which includes off-the-pitch collaborations like his signature Air Jordan 5, Air Max 2090, and Shox R4.
