Nike ACG Ready the GORE-TEX Mountain Fly in 'Clay Green' and 'Black'
With the final two months of 2021 bearing down on us, are set to reintroduce their equipped Mountain Fly. A high-cut hiking boot that works running shoe technology into its midsole, the Mountain Fly was first released in 2020 and was a hit with gorpcore nerds and GORE-TEX aficionados alike. It stuck around in 2021, mostly releasing in , but with winter descending on the Western Hemisphere, it's back in all its gorpy, GORE-TEX-lined glory thanks to a new 'Clay Green' makeup and the restock of a 'Black' style.
The Mountain Fly's top half is equal parts sheath and sock, with a full-foot GORE-TEX membrane wrapping a high-cut collar and internal bootie. Laces are nowhere to be found, replaced by a gator fit system. There's hi-vis GORE-TEX and ACG branding scattered all around the top half as well. Down below, sticky rubber outsoles with an aggressive waffle traction pattern house a React midsole that's bolstered by carbon fibre plate tech taken directly from the record-breaking .
Both Mountain Fly colourways have been loaded up onto the Nike webstore, but no date of arrival is listed. When they do release, they'll be priced at $220.
