The Nike ACG Mountain Fly Low Finally Gets Dressed in GORE-TEX
One particular model that’s garnered plenty of (both positive and negative) attention within the sub-division has been the Mountain Fly Low. After launching at the beginning of last year as a low-top follow-up to its aggressive , now just like its sibling it’ll finally get dressed in a coated upper that is guaranteed to keep you dry.
Don’t get it twisted, the original Mountain Fly Low did feature a water-resistant coating on the ripstop material however field reports suggest that there was some leakage and was nowhere near as superior as GORE-TEX. There also seems to be some major differences between this new water-wicking version and the OG. The most obvious is the lacing system which now doesn’t cross over the upper and wraps around the rear. Another shift is the branding stripes which are zig-zagged instead of in a straight line. GORE-TEX branding now adorns the rear and, it may just be the imagery, but the silhouette also looks quite a lot slimmer.
Three colourways have been debuted via official images and they all follow a similar script to previous ACG releases. The highlight of the trio is the Hazel Rush/Black/Khaki/Atomic Orange and looks similar to this pair. The second is a crisp ‘Triple Black’ with hints of grey while the final chooses a Sea Glass/Lime Ice combination.
Has Nike ACG fixed the outsole issue on the Mountain Fly Low for the upcoming GORE-TEX release? We can only wait and find out. You should expect all three colourways to land at select stockists in the coming month.
