Nike Add Swoosh Carabiners to the Air Force 1 Low
When a shoe's 40 years old, you've got to find a way to keep it fresh – even if it's a model that's as popular as the . hoops-turned lifestyle classic was the , but the brand are always looking for ways to push it into new and uncharted territory, and that produces iterations like this new carabiner-adorned .
The base of this style may be a classic white AF1 Low, but the embellishment is a mountain away from Bruce Kilgore's original design. Instead of reaching to the heel, the shoe's black Swooshes stop under the collar, and on the lateral side this graphic is outlined with a red metallic Swoosh carabiner that's even thoughtful enough to include a bottle opener on its bottom half! This carabiner is held to the upper by small (but colourful) bungee cords, and is removable thanks to a lever on its top half. The rest of the graphics are classic Nike Sportswear: ripstop tongues with alternating branding, metallic red lace deubres and black heel hits.
At the time of writing, no release date for this special Air Force 1 has been announced. However, it's likely to make its way to shelves sometime in the next couple of months. When it does arrive you can expect to plunk down $130 for a pair.
