The Nike Air Force 1 Luxe 'Burnt Sunrise' is All Grown Up
Considering that it turns 40 this year, the may finally be starting to dress its age. This Luxe version bumps up the quality for the occasion, and also draws on its extensive experience by borrowing some cues from some stately designs usually not associated with the retro basketball shoe. More specifically, these brown Uptowns are closer to dandy garb than something Nelly would be copping two pairs of.
Brown can be a risky colour to use on sneakers, but this AF-1 features a warmer shade known as ‘Burnt Sunrise’, which adds a tasty caramel shade to the soft leather upper. The toe box features decorative perforations like those found on fancy dress shoes and boots, plus the eye stay and heel tab edges are pinked to achieve a jagged edge. Threaded through the eyestays are thin round waxed laces for a more formal touch. Underfoot, the jutted midsole on the Luxe edition and its broad stitching resembles a welt as commonly used on traditional shoes. This sole is finished in gum with a darker brown outsole for a clean touch.
Expect this classy colourway to hit Nike retailers during the colder seasons. Get the polish out and prepare for this premium pair.
