The Nike Air Kukini ‘Water’ Is Arriving This Week

Update October 4, 2022: The Nike Air Kukini ‘Water’ will be making a triumphant return in Japan on October 6, and atmos will be stocked come drop day.
Alpha Project produced some weird, wild, wacky and wonderful sneakers around the turn of the century, and the is one of its most unique creations. Once a favourite of sportswear savants and sneakerheads who intentionally veered towards the obscure, it’s now enjoying a moment in the mainstream spotlight thanks to a swath of retro releases and new colourways alike. Now, it’s returning in one of its most famous styles: a refreshing ‘Water’ makeup.
Featuring an all-over blue and white print on its upper, the ‘Water’ gives off a retrofuturistic, leisurely summer-afternoon-at-the-pool vibe that’s only furthered by its translucent TPU webbing. A dotted print appears on the insoles, with both white and black accents rounding off the look. It’s safe to say that the Y2K drip is heavy on the ‘Water,’ and that’s thanks to designer Sean McDowell, who’s also responsible for classics like the and .
A release date for this Air Kukini has yet to be announced, but if you’re looking to take a dip in some Y2K drip, you should be able to do so soon – it’s likely to touch down on the Nike webstore and select Swoosh stockists in the coming weeks.
