Tee Off In the Nike Air Max 90 Golf
Despite celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2020, the remains in strong contention as one of the all-time greatest sneakers by staying in the brand’s offering. It’s another of the Swoosh’s retro runners to undergo a golf modification, exhibiting features designed to go the full 18 holes.
Long-time Air Max 90 fans will likely see the similarities between this Golf edition and the Hyperfuse and Engineered Mesh mods from about a decade ago. One example is the bonded mudguard and overlay panels instead of traditional stitching. This helps with water resistance, but the toe box is kept in open mesh to aid ventilation. Other functional amendments include the updated tread for improved grip on wet grass and sandy bunkers.
On the colourway front, this pair takes advantage of the multiple panels of its design. A grey base makes the majority of the upper, met by a black mudguard and upper eyelet panel. The remaining accents on the forefoot, tongue label and heel tab are ‘Marina’ blue, plus a crisp white Swoosh. The midsole is matched alongside a blue Air unit accent.
This Air Max 90 Golf should be hitting Nike retailers and select golf equipment stores in coming weeks.
