Every year there are exciting sneaker anniversaries that need to be celebrated! In 2022 are celebrating multiple, from their own to the 25th! To celebrate the latter, we’ve received an influx of colourways, but what we’re really waiting for has been the and ‘Gold Bullet’.
The kicked into gear at the backend of 2021, stating that the iconic ‘Metallic Silver’ colourway was returning this year. It’s been eight months, and we’re still standing by for a release. We may have to wait a little longer as news has just come through via Complex that the ‘Gold Bullet’ could also return but not until… 2023!
Contrary to popular belief, the ‘Gold Bullet’ is not actually an OG AM97 colourway from 1997, but one that released a few years later in 1999. Since then, it’s been blessed with a retro in 2004 and 2010, then to celebrate the shoe’s 20th anniversary in 2017, with some drops occurring in early 2018. It exudes a similar vibe to its silver counterpart, with metallic uppers, red Swoosh, white midsole and translucent Air unit.
According to the source, the 2023 Nike Air Max 97 ‘Gold Bullet’ will return as part of the Spring/Summer lineup and will arrive in February or March. Stay locked for updates!
