What If JJJJound Designed a Nike Air Max Plus?
They’d probably look something like this. Let’s exercise some creative license and imagine that this pair of was the creation of the Montreal minimalist mogul, because that’s exactly what they'd look like. It sheds its tough exterior and aggressive colourway for a tonal alternative that’s more suited to Mulberry Street than Marseille.
In keeping with this imaginative ethos, the minimalism is at play with the stripped-back look of the upper, which is achieved by removing the distinct TPU ribbing and replacing it with tonal embroidery. The beige colourway certainly also helps add to the low-key look. Reverence for understated opulence can be observed via the unconventional usage of suede on the mudguard and heel counter, cementing this TN as a pure lifestyle play. Speaking of which, the usual yellow TN badge on the heel is debossed tonally into the panel, subtly flexing the shoe’s signature technology.
The simulation is now over: this is not a collaboration. But, with the right Mise-en-scène of clean lighting, a cocked leg and replica Eames furniture, getting these TNs onto a mid-sized moodboard Instagram page might just be the next best thing. Expect to see this Air Max Plus at select Nike retailers in coming weeks.
