The Nike Air Max Plus 'Voltage Purple' is Releasing Early!

Update January 11, 2024: It looks like the classic Nike Air Max Plus 'Voltage Purple' is dropping earlier than expected, with several stores across Europe already posting the shoe online. You'll be able to get your hands on the pair via Nike UK's website and Offspring.

It’s the 25th anniversary of the ‘Le Requin’ this year, and it seems the Swoosh is celebrating with returns of classic colourways. There's only rumours of a ‘Hyper Blue’ return, but we now have official images of the ‘Voltage Purple’, which hints at a release coming soon. Both colourways were OG Sean McDowell designs from 1998 and are still very sought after, so it makes sense that they’re the ones chosen to return for the special occasion. The last time we saw either of them was in 2018 for the 20th anniversary.

The ‘Voltage Purple’ features a striking purple mesh as the base, with a solid colouring besides a stripe of gradient fade to white on the top through the tongue. The titular shade also appears on the sole, insole and shank. Black takes over on the sock liner, laces, top of the tongue and across the moulded veins. A bright orange electrifies the Swoosh on the side, along with the tongue branding and air bubbles. Yellow also makes an appearance, coming in on the TN logo and hemis.

There’s no official release date yet for the Nike Air Max Plus ‘Voltage Purple’, but it is expected to drop in the next few months for $175. Stay locked to Sneaker Freaker for updates.
