The Nike Air Max Scorpion Goes ‘Triple Black’
While announced the new model towards the end of last year, the brand is yet to release the shoe. In spite of that, official images continue surfacing of upcoming colourways. However, calling this new ‘Triple Black’ edition a colourway would be something of a misnomer given that it’s just a solid coloured shoe. That aside, there’s plenty to gawk at on the Scorpion.
Starting from the top down, this upcoming lifestyle oriented model makes full use of Flyknit, a material that has matured in the 10 years since its debut. Construction methods are more sophisticated now than those from 2012, which is reflected here in the variable weave patterns throughout the upper. This helps balance desirable elements like breathability and durability within the single piece of fabric. Welded mudguard and bumper components help provide additional structure to the upper, and also forms a solid foundation to attach the midsole. The midsole is, of course, the main talking point of the Air Max Scorpion. Its full-length Air sole forms a hovercraft-like platform to walk on, and an additional channel runs down the middle of the footbed to provide complete cushioning.
