Black and White Boosts the Nike Air Max TW 1
are yet to release their new retro-inspired model, but official images of upcoming colourways are beginning to surface. Well, calling this black and white pair would be something of a misnomer as it doesn’t have any bright hues going on, but it’s still a solid selection nonetheless.
The Air Max TW 1 is a spiritual descendent of the Air Max Tailwind line that saw the most progression and popularity in the 1990s. This model has bits and pieces from the Air Max Tailwind 2 and 3, blended in such a way that it could’ve preceded the 4. The layered panels and big heel Air units are period-correct touches, but a heritage shoe this is not. Elements that give away its 2022 progeny include the seamless mid section, Cushlon foam midsole, updated TW logo, and, perhaps most tellingly of all, the Nike ‘pinwheel’ logo printed on the insoles, which suggests there is a recycled component behind it all. On the colourway front, alternating panels of black and white are foolproof, but the the middle overspray ribbing adds just enough complexity to keep things interesting.
Expect this colourway – plus more to come – of the Nike Air Max TW 1 to arrive later this year.
