The Nike Air Trainer 1 ‘Photon Dust’ Cleans Up the Competition
2022 marks the 35th anniversary of the , and the Swoosh are preparing to bring the versatile sneaker back in a big way with releases such as the ‘Photon Dust’. This clean colourway is a stark contrast to some of the more out-there AT1s that have come back recently, and will also make a nice complement to the OG that’s apparently due to drop too.
The 1987 classic arguably works best when less is done to it and, falling short of going monochrome, this example does just that. ‘Photon Dust’ AKA grey is a nice accent on the leather uppers, which meets other shades such as ‘Smoke Grey’. The Swoosh matches the forefoot panel and strap, while major sections like the toe box, tongue and ankle collar are bare white.
As the trend has been lately, the foam midsoles are slightly yellowed to imply a vintage finish – as though this colourway released 35 years ago. Behind those soles is Nike Air cushioning, which is impressively comfortable to this day.
Expect the Nike Air Trainer 1 ‘Photon Dust’ to hit retailers in coming months, when the Swoosh undoubtedly ramp up the release schedule for the big bringback.
