Update July 19, 2023: A release date has arrived for the upcoming Nike Cortez ‘Bruce Lee’ or ‘Kill Bill’. Call it what you will – pairs will release next month on August 1 at select retailers.

Update May 17, 2023: Official images of the Nike Cortez ‘Kill Bill’ have arrived, meaning a release date won’t be far off.

As it turns out, it’s becoming a pretty solid year for yellow and black sneakers. Earlier, we documented the rise of the Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 in yellow and black – a silhouette and colourway that’s gained momentum on the streets and feeds in recent months. And with pairs in such demand, they even saw a restock recently.

CLOT also hooked up with Nike not long ago, dressing their brand new Clotez silhouette in the famous Bruce Lee-inspired makeup, which saw the inners covered in a yellow exterior alongside black Swooshes and a black, removable bootie. Nike have more Bruce Lee, aka ’Kill Bill’, homages up their sleeve, revealing official images of a Cortez in the aforementioned colourway. Featuring yellow nylon uppers, these Cortez are also bolstered with suede on the toes and heels in a similar shade. White makes up the soles, and a hint of black can be found on the Swooshes. The heel tabs feature striking yellow embroidery, and the addition of silver lace dubraes gives the design an elegant finish.

There’s currently no release date locked for the Nike Cortez, but keep it locked to SF for updates.
