‘Venom’ Could Be a Good Nickname for this Nike Dunk High
As seen with the recent , pop culture has long crept into the sneakersphere and given rise to all sorts of on-foot references. Like the recent comic book caper that informed the nickname for that red and black edition, here’s an upcoming that could conjure allusions to Venom, the anti-hero and regular nemesis of Spider-Man. That being said, Nike already have a SB Dunk nicknamed ‘Venom’ from circa 2008.
In any case, these new Dunks definitely have similarities to that old colourway – not that much else can be done to a black and white sneaker. The leather uppers are all black, save for the white Swoosh and shoe laces. Underfoot, white midsoles break up the monochrome finish, which is met with black outsoles and tonal white stitching. There is some additional contrast up top, as the tongues are made of thin woven nylon, and its woven tag is a lighter shade of dark grey to reveal Nike branding. The lining is also mesh, which has been the standard configuration for years now.
With official images emerging of adult-sized pairs, plus Grade School editions already having released overseas, expect to see plenty of these Dunks on the streets when they land in coming months.
