Nike don’t seem to be slowing down with the Dunk in 2023. After all, it’s been one of their most popular models over the past couple of years since its revival. This upcoming low-cut edition makes an overt nod back to an era when most of today’s Dunk wearers were probably still in diapers: the CO.JP years of the early 2000s.

CO.JP, also less commonly referred to as ‘Concept Japan’ – and also once the URL for Nike Japan – spawned dozens, if not hundreds, of memorable releases about 20 years ago. It acknowledged the street appeal of the Swoosh’s former and current performance models at the time and remixed them with crazy colours and materials.

This seems commonplace now on a model like the Dunk, but it was pioneering stuff back then. This new edition references that with the judicious use of faux snakeskin on the upper, plus an earthy on-trend colourway. The CO.JP homage is spelled out on the tongue, and the insoles also depict the ‘LE’ (Limited Edition) logo used during that era.
