It was 75 years ago that Jackie Robinson was enlisted by the Brooklyn Dodgers as the first African American Major League Baseball player. Breaking down racial barriers, it was a major moment for American sport and his memory has been forever immortalised via a statue outside Coney Island’s MCU baseball park. , have recently announced a release date for their ‘Jackie Robinson’ to coincide with the MLB All Star Game!
The upper has been constructed in the Brooklyn Dodgers colour blocking, using a mix of ‘Racer Blue’ and ‘Coconut Milk’ in the classic two-tone combo. There are plenty of custom details such as specialised tongue, overlays and insoles that quote the legendary player: ‘I’m not concerned with your liking or disliking me. All I ask is that you respect me as a human being.’
