Nike’s Dunk Low and Air Max Scorpion Get in the Barbie Spirit

With Barbie officially launching in cinemas this week, you could say that the global pink takeover has reached a fever pitch. Barbie’s marketing rollout has been one of the most memorable movie promotions in recent years, with a seemingly never-ending collection of collaborations everywhere you look including stationary, pyjamas and a bunch more in between. Interestingly, Barbie didn’t actually tap into the sneaker world, leaving many wondering what an official Barbie collaboration would have looked like. Then earlier this week, The Shoe Surgeon answered that question, cooking up a Barbie-fied Nike SB Dunk Low good enough for both Barbie and Ken!

Now, official images have begun surfacing of a very Barbie-esque Nike Dunk Low, which looks like it’s come straight out of the protagonist’s walk-in wardrobe. While the design features the classic two-tone Dunk panelling, it’s come correct with a handful of embellishments making it fit for the iconic character, including metallic glitter Swooshes, patent pink overlays, oversized blinged-out N lace dubraes, and specialised tongue tabs featuring silver stars. A pink Nike Air Max Scorpion has also surfaced, bearing the same Nike branding on its lateral sides, indicating they could be from the same pack.
