Nike Drop Dunk Lows for the League of Legends Pro League
made a major foray into the burgeoning eSports arena in 2019 when they became an equipment partner with the Pro League (LPL). This is the highest level of competition for the popular League of Legends computer game in China, and the Swoosh so far have outfitted the professional players with exclusive kit and collaborative sneakers. Up next is a that is set for some digital destruction on the internet.
The uppers are actually a flipped combination of textured woven fabric – an intriguing material departure from the predominately leather Dunks that have dropped in 2021 – paired to brushed black suede. This textile also hides a highly detailed pattern waving throughout the surface. The mid panel is similarly interesting, with an embossed scaled finish reminiscent of dragon skin.
That Swoosh looks a bit too plain to be in the mix, doesn’t it? Nike are up to their old tricks again, as the double-layered logo actually is a combination of glow-in-the-dark on the outline, with a multicoloured reflective material used on the top layer. Wild!
Having earlier this year, these official Nike pictures all but verify their existence. Whether they'll receive a retail release or not remains to be seen.
