Nike Re-Up Their Partnership with the NFL
The and have officially extended their partnership, reaffirming Nike's position as the league’s exclusive supplier of on-field uniforms, sideline apparel, and fan merchandise. The renewed 10-year agreement will extend through 2038.
‘This partnership renewal is a testament to the strength and success of our collaboration with the NFL,’ said Nike’s new CEO Elliott Hill. ‘As we embark on this new chapter, we’re committed to co-creating cutting-edge solutions that meet the rapidly changing needs of NFL athletes and fans while fuelling the league’s growth and development initiatives.’
Nike have been the NFL’s uniform provider since 2012, succeeding who held the role from 2001 to 2011. Over the past decade, the Nike-NFL partnership has introduced numerous advancements in sportswear technology, including stretch-woven uniforms and Dri-FIT fabric.
‘They’re a global brand, an iconic brand all over the world associated with great athletes and great sports,’ said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in a statement to The Associated Press. ‘They’re the kind of brand that, in partnership with us, will be effective in encouraging kids to play the game globally. This partnership brings credibility to both of us.’
The extension comes just weeks after Nike signed a with the NBA, WNBA, and G League, which will see them continue to outfit uniforms, on-court gear, and fan apparel across professional basketball leagues.
