Update February 7, 2023: Gnarcotic have shared a post stating that Nike’s lawsuit against them has been dropped! They’ve also said that there will be more shoes arriving in their Spring season this year, so stay locked for updates.

It seems that laying down the law was at the top of Nike’s agenda for this month, as the latest reports reveal another case for trademark infringement – just last week, Nike filed a lawsuit against Sue Kiy and Omi. According to recent court documents obtained by Nice Kicks, the Swoosh have filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against Lil Gnar and his footwear brand Gnarcotic, which argues that the brand ‘has and continues to promote and sell Nike Dunk knockoffs in several colorways, as well as making unauthorized use of patterns that confusingly mimic Nike’s iconic Elephant Print design.’

According to the documents, Nike claim to have first made contact with the brand back in July, attempting to ‘reach a resolution with Gnarcotic that does not involve the continued theft of Nike’s designs,’ and that, ‘During these discussions, Gnarcotic made representations that it would cease, among other things, selling products that infringe Nike’s intellectual property, and these representations were a cornerstone of Nike’s decision to continue its attempt to resolve this matter amicably.’

There have been no further updates on this developing story as yet.
