Nike Just Reopened their OG Blue Ribbon Sports Store
Back in 1967, Blue Ribbon Sports — the brand we now know as — opened their first retail location in Santa Monica. It was helmed by Jeff Johnson, the brand’s first real employee, and billed as a place for running nuts to link up and talk shop. It was the first location in what has turned into a massive retail empire with much, much .
Now, just like they do with their sneakers, Nike are returning to the OG. They’ve reopened their Santa Monica spot as an homage to history which will be used as a space for local runners to chill and chat PBs and training techniques — just like they did in the 60s.
