Official Look: Nike KD 4 'Year of the Dragon'

Kevin Durant is now in his 17th year in the league, and throughout his long career so far, the Nike KD 4 is the sneaker that sneakerheads and fans look fondly of in hindsight. As the Swoosh plan to bring the sneaker back in 2024, the KD 4 gets a second ‘Year of the Dragon’ colourway for the Lunar New Year.

Born in 1988, KD is a dragon according to the Chinese zodiac and Nike dropped a ‘Year of the Dragon’ colourway of the KD 4 in 2012 for the occasion. As the zodiac cycle returns to the dragon twelve years later, Nike have a second ‘Year of the Dragon’ colourway, opting for earth tones instead of the blue and orange scheme of the first rendition. The signature angular strap features a woodgrain pattern, with a standout red Swoosh, a billowy dragon entangled within the embroidered Swoosh on the medial side, and the KD logo on the heel. A minimal Zoom unit is placed in the forefoot, which sits in a cream Phylon midsole, and a gum outsole finishing off the sneaker.
