Vanessa Bryant Shares Preview of Nike Kobe 6 Protro ‘BHM’
legacy lives on via his sneakers, thanks to the blessing of . After some deliberation, the Kobe signature line will continue production, with new colourways eventually on the way. One of these original renditions is the ‘BHM’, aka Black History Month, shown on the Protro.
The Protro suffix refers to the series of Kobe shoes retrofitted with modern tech to suit the demands of current athleticism. After all, these are basketball shoes. This is evident here with the thicker midsole and enlarged tread panelling. The upper and fit have also been reconfigured to be slimmer and more ergonomic than the OG.
On the colourway front, the ‘BHM’ edition continues a long-standing commemoration from Nike that started in the mid-2000s. This pair sports a neutral base with taupe accents on the heel, which is then met by a pinkish Swoosh and additional bright blue hits. Some matching splatter shows up on the external heel counter hardware, which is translucent to reveal the shifting panel colours underneath.
Nothing else has been confirmed about these Kobes beyond their existence. That being said, it’s understood Nike Kobe shoes will continue to be manufactured and hopefully become available to the public in the near future.
