FIRST LOOK: Nike Kobe 6 Protro 'USA'

The FIBA World Cup kicks off at the end of the month, and Team USA is currently in Las Vegas for training camp. As the team are working and training together, New York Knicks guard Quentin Grimes has shown off patriotic colourways of the Nike Kobe 6 Protro he’ll be rocking for the tournament.

The Nike Kobe line has seen USA-themed colourways on the Nike Kobe 2 and Nike Kobe 7 as he rocked the respective sneakers, leading Team USA to gold in the FIBA Americas in 2007 and at the 2012 London Olympics. For the first time, the USA hues have made it to the Nike Kobe 6 Protro.

Seen in two colourways, the first is the home colourway, which uses white on the upper with glossy scales throughout to fit into the Black Mamba theme and blue and red hues accent the sneaker throughout. The away colourway features navy on the upper with red and white accenting. Cushlon is used in the midsoles that encapsulate a large Zoom Turbo unit in the forefoot, and a marbled print is featured in the respective outsoles to finish off the sneakers.

News of a release for the Nike Kobe 6 Protro ‘USA’ is unknown, but it’ll likely stay as a Team USA PE. Keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker if there’s word of a public release.
