Nike Pop Yet Another Cork-Themed Air Max 95
have a lot to celebrate, considering they’re the world’s most popular sneaker brand and all. Another noteworthy achievement is the ongoing popularity of the monumental , which is coming in a colourway and joins another recently revealed and .
It seems there’s a bit of an ebony and ivory package going on here, as now there appears to be two dark and light renditions each of the cork shoes. They’re living together in perfect harmony too, as this sandy shading serves as a nice complement to the murkier navy alternate version. The inclusion of cork as an accenting material means the rest of this AM95’s upper gets a makeover too.
Where microfibre usually features has now been replaced with heavy twill that takes on various tan tones, loosely referencing the OG ‘Neon’ colourway’s ‘greydient’. The namesake material inspiration is only present on the tongue’s middle strip, making for tasteful restraint as it gives way to the finely embroidered cork plant (who knew that’s what they looked like?) as the star of the shoe show. The cork theme continues underfoot too, with the finely speckled rubber outsole reminiscent of shoe soles that have cork added into the mix to boost cushioning and grip.
The cork is yet to be popped, but keep an eye out for an imminent release.
