The collaborative release between Nike SB and Jordan Brand that touched down mid-last year was one of the most sought-after Air Jordan 4s in recent memory. There’s been no word that we’re expected to receive another pair; however, rare sneaker aficionado @englishsole has come through with the mysterious ‘Triple Black’ pair that circled around the release of the ‘Pine Green’.

This pair originally surfaced at the start of March when Eric Koston and Paul Rodriguez were spotted skating the ‘Triple Black’ ahead of the launch of the ‘Pine Green’. Fans were hyped; however, there was no word of a release and it’s now been revealed that they were just a wear-test sample. The ‘Triple Black’ hosted all the same details as its green counterpart, donning 1989 AJ4 shape, rubberised wings and fat tongue. The only change is that most of the wear test model has been build in suede and hosts an all-black build.

Combining skate-ready tech with an iconic basketball sneaker was a genius move, and the idea crafted an AJ4 with a perfect shape that resembled the OG. With the reception of the ‘Pine Green’, we’re sure Nike SB and Jordan Brand will be working on more pairs in the future.

As they’re a wear test sample created to test the Nike SB x Air Jordan 4’s skate-ability, don’t expect to see these release.
