Nike SB Have Shut Down ‘Heineken 2.0’ Dunk Rumour
Around late December, a peculiar sneaker rumour began circulating the internet suggesting that a remake of the original was in the works. Referred to as the ‘Heineken 2.0’, online discourse, all of which was unconfirmed, led many to believe that they would be arriving sometime this year.
As one of the most legendary Nike SB Dunks to ever be created (no, they weren’t an official collaboration), a bringback as such would not be taken lightly – with many arguing that it shouldn’t ever happen. Now, before the rumour has had any more time to progress further into the year, have officially shut it all down by dropping a comment on a Instagram post. On the post, which claims that the ‘Heineken 2.0’ would release in 2023, Nike simply commented ‘Not SB’.
Employing some critical thinking, technically, this doesn’t mean that the alleged remake doesn’t exist, but rather that it’s not an SB project. Interestingly, reliable sneaker source and insider Brendan Dunne also took to Twitter on January 10 to offer further insight, stating that there is now collaboration in the works but that it will be an inline ‘reverse’ colourway.
Now, with Heineken running a tongue-in-cheek take on the recently launched Tiffany & Co. x Nike Air Force 1 advertisement, there’s every chance that the inline ‘reverse’ release could drop in 2023 – perhaps as a Nike Air Force 1. Or maybe it means nothing at all. Time will tell!
