Senior Leadership Shake-Up at Nike
To many sneakerheads, the execs within upper echelon are basically celebrities, pulling the strings on all the hottest and most coveted releases. Occasionally, Beaverton likes to shake things up, moving individuals around to spearhead innovation and change.
Today, Team Swoosh have announced that there will be some changes among the senior leadership:
Heidi O’Neill will move from her role as the President of Consumer and Marketplace to become the President of Consumer, Product and Brand.
Craig Williams, currently the President of Jordan Brand, will become the new President of Geographies and Marketplace. Sarah Mensah, the VP/GM of Nike’s North America region, will take over from Williams and become Jordan Brand’s first female president. Converse CEO Scott Uzzell will take over from Mensah as VP/GM of Nike’s North America region.
Matthew Friend, Nike’s current EVP and CFO, will expand his role to include Procurement, Global Places and Services, and Demand and Supply Management.
Nike’s COO, Andy Campion, will take on a new role as the Managing Director of Strategic Business Ventures.
‘We’re driving even greater focus and integration across our business and teams through these changes, doubling down on what Nike does best: seamlessly serving athletes with compelling product,’ says Nike CEO and president John Donahoe. ‘Our brand momentum is strong, our innovation pipeline is unmatched, and our strategy is working. What continues to be clear is that there’s so much more potential ahead of us. These shifts will allow us to streamline our focus across product, brand storytelling and marketplace, mining deep consumer insights to deliver breakthrough innovation and engagement while building long-term growth and profitability.’
