Nike is set to debut to a fresh six-part documentary series dubbed The Story of Dunk, which retraces the history of the iconic silhouette in all its forms.

The series will delve into the Dunk’s debut on university hardwoods in 1985, telling the story of the famed ‘Be True to Your School’ releases, before moving onto the silhouette’s evolution on the concrete of the street.

Undoubtedly one of the most loved sneakers of all time, the Dunk has experienced a wild renaissance in 2020. The crew in Beaverton have been planting seeds for this comeback for years, but even they couldn’t have predicted the mind-blowing response which has ensued.

‘A six-part documentary tells the story of this cult classic through those who share the Dunk’s defiant spirit and make it their own, marking it out as a symbol of self-expression that binds the rebellious in us all,’ says Nike.

The first episode is coming soon, and will be screened via Nike’s SNKRS portal. The release date will be revealed very soon, so hang tight!

In the meantime, you can check out the epic trailer below, which arrives courtesy of skate legend Eric Koston, who features prominently in the series.
