As the 2023 NFL nears and college football is entering Week 1 this weekend, it looks like have something special in the works. The reunion between Deion Sanders and Nike has brought back a special DT Max 96 for Coach Prime but that’s not all the Swoosh are doing with Deion’s signature sneaker.
Last year, Kyler Murray debuted a PE cleat featuring design elements of the Nike DT Max 96. Murray, before becoming the 2018 Heisman Trophy winner and first overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, was selected ninth overall in the 2018 MLB Draft to the Oakland A's. Like Prime Time, Murray could have been a two-sport professional athlete in baseball and football, which is why he was given a PE featuring Deion’s signature sneaker.
Dressed in black nubuck, the signature claw marks of the DT Max 96 are seen in gold. The midfoot strap dons the Swoosh in white as well as on the lateral side, with Deion’s Diamond Turf logo seen on the Dynamic Fit collar. Red accents the cleat, as well as the rear heeltab and laces. In true Vapor fashion, a chevron studded soleplate that’s built for speed is utilised.
