Nine Arrests Made in Connection with $50K of Stolen Nike Merchandise

Nine arrests made in connection with $50k worth of stolen Nike merchandise

It seems that sneaker-related crime has ramped up again recently, as nine men have now been arrested in connection with $50k of stolen Nike products taken from a train boxcar. According to court documents, an anonymous tip led Memphis Police to a nearby residence where the products had been taken after being stolen from the railyard.

One officer arrived at the residence to see several men carrying large quantities of Swoosh shoeboxes from the house to a car, and nine men were arrested on scene. Police then found 35 cases of Nike sneakers in one of the cars, three standalone Nike shoeboxes in another, and another 30 cases of shoes when they searched the residence. According to court documents, a representative for the Swoosh estimated the value of the goods to be around $50k.

Earlier this week, we reported on another high-value sneaker heist currently being investigated by the LAPD, while sneaker theft is also continuing to plague the industry at a retail level. While the authorities work to address such cases, make sure to stay locked to Sneaker Freaker for all the updates and other industry news.
