Official Look: The 2021 Nike Air Force 1 and Air Max 90 ‘St. Patrick’s Day’
St. Patrick’s Day is among the annual holidays that regularly partake in by offering a themed sneaker release. Often characterised by copious amounts of green, gold, and four-leaf clovers, Swoosh-branded drops historically have ranged from garish to great across the entire gamut of their retro and contemporary offerings. 2021’s pack sees the and , two models frequently featured in this lucky collection. And the execution is relatively subdued this year, while still adding some fun flair with subtler features.
The Air Force 1 takes on a verdant palette of dark and light green shades across a leather upper, which has a slab of white through the mid panel, heel tab, and midsole to break things up. The colour-blocking is balanced here, as the Swoosh, lining and toe box are matched to one another, and the toe bumper, heel counter, and outsole are also matched in darker green. Additionally, an embossed clover pattern on the heel nods to the theme. As does the understated gold-coloured lace dubrae.
Similarly, the Air Max 90 returns to the fold with a straightforward two-toned execution covering most of the upper, plus extra light green accents on key areas including the heel contrast, mudguard logo, and heel badge. This AM90 sees generous lashings of white mesh, keeping with its performance origins. Here, the gold is restrained only to the Air Max branding on the mudguard.
While there is no hard release date yet, expect confirmation to come closer to the Irish holiday, which falls on March 17.
