Official Look: The Next Prada x adidas Luna Rossa 21
2020 marked a new frontier in sneaker collaborations between luxury brands and sneaker companies. One example was and , who released the in December after a prolonged teaser period. Following that highly hyped release, it appears the luxe loungers will try to make lightning strike twice, as another colourway of the Luna Rossa 21 is set to drop some time this year.
This edition essentially swaps out the translucent white tones of the first drop for varying shades of silver and grey, while retaining distinct branding areas. According to adidas, the Luna Rossa 21 was designed for the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli sailing team, while incorporating both adi’s latest comfort tech and sustainability protocols. The uppers use mostly PRIMEGREEN recycled materials that are generously perforated for quick drainage – these uber luxury $695 sneakers are actually made to get wet. Similarly, the insoles are lined with mesh atop BOOST innards, because comfort is paramount whether on the streets or high seas. Ice soles wrap the midsoles for multi angle grip, and a thin slot is reserved at the heel for Prada’s red strip branding.
While these official images confirm the existence of this colourway, a release date is yet to be announced. Stay tuned for that.
