Official Pics: The Air Jordan 1 KO ‘Chicago’ 2021 Comeback Heats Up
will likely taper down on the colourways in 2021, but fans of the legendary sneaker can still rejoice in the return of the popular KO variation. We caught wind of the return , with leaked pics of an OG ‘Chicago’ colourway hitting our feeds. Set to bolster the already loaded Spring 2021 lineup, the sneaker has more or less been confirmed with the unveiling of official imagery from Beaverton.
Originally released in 1986 alongside the more storied High and Low version of the AJ1, the backstory of the KO is somewhat controversial. Many claim the ‘KO’ actually stands for ‘knock-off’ – a representation of the silhouette’s less premium construction and materials – and the traditional canvas upper base and chunkier styling certainly lends itself to that label. That said, this ‘Chicago’ colourway is sure to be a popular drop, with its signature white, black, and ‘University Red’ scheme. A white canvas base is supported with red overlays, while the black leather Swooshes and ankle collar deliver the offsetting darker tone. Additionally, you can expect the familiar ‘AJKO’ branding on the Wings logo, with a white midsole atop a red rubber outsole down below.
Still no official release date, but early rumours suggest the Air Jordan 1 KO ‘Chicago’ will release sometime in Spring 2021 at select retailers and via Nike. Stay tuned for confirmation!
