On-Foot Look: The Off-White x Air Jordan 2 Low
Leaked pre-release pics of the x have been constantly circulating recently, showing off the two colourways rumoured to release this year. We’ve mostly seen imagery of the White/Red pair, so we’re excited about this fresh on-foot look at its cohort: the Black/Blue.
The Air Jordan 2 Low is an underrated silhouette from , and has kept the construction relatively unchanged. The major standout is the midsole which has been purposely distressed to replicate crumbling foam that we all . The classic Off-White zip-tie, medial branding, and logo-adorned shoe laces make the colab credentials well known. Another interesting addition to this collaborative sneaker is Michael Jordan’s signature that’s been plastered along the lateral and faux snakeskin textured leather.
Alongside this Black/Blue combo will be the White/Red joint that could possibly be a nod to the 1986 ‘Varsity Red’ AJ2 colourway. This one also features a similar pre-aged aesthetic, and may even embody it better than its black partner because of the obvious artificial midsole yellowing. Both of these colourways may also have something to do with the fact that it’s the Air Jordan 2’s 35th anniversary this year, but nothing has been officially confirmed.
The rumour mill is rife at the moment, and we’ve caught wind that both of the Off-White x Air Jordan 2 Lows will release on September 23 at select Swoosh stockists. Neither brand has confirmed that the collaboration will release then, but we’ll keep you updated when they do.
