Street Party & Opulent Presents Rye Rye

Opulent Presents Rye Rye 1

From Baltimore, Maryland to world domination at only age 18. The newest rising star in club music is about to take over. Rye Rye, is a female MC from the violence-riddled US city of Baltimore - home to a unique brand of loud club music, Baltimore Club, which she has made her own. Rye Rye’s debut single ‘Shake it to the Ground’ (with Blaqstarr) caught the eyes and ears of music lovers all around the world with her unique sound. The video snagged over 1 million views on YouTube. Other tracks like ‘Wassup Wassup’ and ‘Get Familiar’ follow suit, demonstrating her versatility, an abundance of personality and an ability to breathe new life into up-tempo rap.

Discovered by world-renowned trend setting DJ Diplo, and acclaimed by M.I.A, Rye Rye was then further catapulted into the limelight by Santogold and host of other influential musicians. An A&R’s dream, she has signed to the major US label Interscope and is rumoured to be working on her new album already with a star-studded list of guests, with production handled by Diplo and other ground breaking producers. Rye Rye is ushering in a new generation of artists that love what they do and do what they love. “This is all I have ever wanted to do, perform, and all I want is for people to enjoy themselves when they hear it”.

Having just scorched stages across the US on tour with M.I.A., Maya herself commented: “Rye Rye has developed her own style and people are loving what she is bringing to music!”  With the attention of big labels and the media (including gossip blogger Perez Hilton who has been all over her for some time), you can expect Rye Rye to make big moves this year.

Rye Rye is set to embark on her first Australian tour and we expect club music locally to never be the same again.
