Palace Add Special Branding to Three Classic Vans Old Skool Colourways
The cheeky chaps over at revealed their Spring 2022 collection today, and among all the , Pertex, technical jackets and playful T-shirts there were some sneakers created with – namely a trifecta of takes on the . The third collaborative effort between the two parties, following up and in 2021, this three-pack of takes on the Old Skool eschews prints in favour of classic colourways and simple branding.
When you look at each shoe's lateral side, there's nothing to indicate that it's a collaboration. The offering's two-tone blue, white/black and white/marshmallow colourways are all unchanged from their in-line drops, and you have to shift your gaze to the heel for any indication that Palace had a hand in the process. Each style's heel is emblazoned with Palace's 'Basically A' graphic, a stylised black text logo surrounded by a blue top bar and a red bottom bar that's been used on everything from sweatpants to T-shirts and crewnecks. Though Palace fans who prefer more colourful-adorned garments may be disappointed in the simplicity of this colab, we love it – there's a case to be made in the Palace version of the collection, a seasonal staple with just enough embellishment.
At the time of writing, a release date for the Palace x Vans Old Skool collection has yet to be revealed. However, it'll be rolling out as part of Palace's Spring 2022 collection, which means we'll see it on shelves in the next few weeks.
