The collaborative sneaker also gets a modern cushioning update, swapping in the React and Zoom Air-equipped midsole of the Nike Pegasus 40. Amsterdam tastemakers Patta celebrate their 20th anniversary next year, and part of the festivities is expected to be a fresh round of drops with their frequent sneaker collaborators. One of which is none other than the Swoosh. Patta and Nike first teamed up in 2006, and in their 17-year partnership, they’ve unleashed a steady lineup of silhouettes donning the streetwear’s slick eye for stunning design. Most notably they love to hit the Tinker Hatfield Air Max line again and again. But it looks as though part of next year’s milestone celebrations will be on another Hatfield design, the Nike Air Huarache Plus, as it was spotted in some early looks at a mysterious sample from @carterwangchina.

There's plenty of rumours flying around about Patta's 2024 plans, with a revisit to their iconic Air Max 1 'Chlorophyll' recently hitting the sneakersphere gossip mill. So it's interesting that the label looks like they'll be expanding from their Air Max roots into the Huarache line. Dressed in a mixture of 'White', 'Light Smoke Grey', 'Bright Magenta', and black hues, the sample model features an open-mesh toe box, neoprene materials for the underlay and sock lining, and leather overlays forming the half and rear panel of the upper. An interesting design tweak is the replacement of aces with pink nylon buckle straps. The tongues are co-branded with ‘Air Huarache by Patta’, and the heel pull tabs sport the ‘Nike Patta’ insignia. The sole unit is lifted from the Pegasus 40 and consists of a 'Light Orewood Brown' midsole resting on a black rubber outsole. This is an interesting detail, as with the Nike Pegasus 41 due for a 2024 release, it's intriguing that Patta chose a soon-to-be replaced construction. This perhaps suggests that it may have been a cancelled colab meant for 2023.
