Update November 22, 2023: official photos of the Reebok Answer III have dropped, showing off the classic silhouette fitted in black leather, accented with red branding on the tongue, and completed with a zebra DMX midsole. It's been attached to a December 2023 release date, and the pair will be available in unisex sizing for $140 retail.

Ask anyone to name a retro basketball shoe and nine times out of ten, they’ll come back with a Jordan. While the Jumpman may still dominate in pop culture terms, there are still plenty of other brands that have kitted out some of the all-time greats, and that shouldn't be overlooked. Take Reebok for example, who counted the likes of Allen Iverson and Shaquille O’Neal amongst their roster, and who have now tapped both of the former players as Vice President and President of Reebok Basketball, respectively.

The duo have only held their new roles for just over a month, but it’s quickly become clear that much of their work will revolve around re-releasing Reebok’s retro silhouettes. Among them, the Answer III is set to make a comeback.

Born in 1999, the model was one of Iverson’s signatures and amassed a cult following. The 2024 version retains all the same traits as the OG, with tumbled leather playing host to panelled uppers and sole units that come crafted from DMX foam. Branding hits remain the same, too, right down to the iconic ‘I3’ logo on the lateral heel.

The Reebok Answer III has already returned in a couple of colourways, but we’re still waiting to hear of a stateside release date for this ‘Black/White’ version. In the meantime, stay locked to Sneaker Freaker for all the latest on this release and more.
