Ronnie Fieg Teases New ASICS GEL-Lyte V Colabs Alongside Upcoming Event

Anyone even remotely interested in sneakers throughout the past decade will undoubtedly have encountered the work of Ronnie Fieg, who lit a beacon for retro ASICS runners thanks to his collaborations. Way back in 2011, having already dropped a handful of highly collectible GEL-Lyte IIIs in the years prior, Fieg released the ‘Salmon Toe’ edition to commemorate the opening of his then new Kith boutique. 10 increasingly successful years later, the collaborator provocateur is revisiting this legendary colourway to celebrate the store’s – now an international empire – latest anniversary.

In his latest Instagram post, Fieg reflected on the grand opening of Kith’s first store in Brooklyn, to which he then announced he ‘want[ed] to give something special to people who currently own the Salmon Toe, Salmon Toe 2.0 and/or Leather Back GL3s’. Fieg will be rewarding ‘a very nice gift’ to attendees of a special Zoom panel he is hosting this coming Friday. The nice gift? Judging from the pics in his post, it looks like the ‘Salmon Toe’ and ‘Leather Back’ colourways will be returning in GEL-Lyte 5 form! His team will choose the lucky guests, who can enter for the limited spots by an image of the aforementioned colabs on their social feeds and tagging @ronniefieg on Instagram and/or Twitter.
