Rui Hachimura’s Air Jordan 35 PE ‘Hinamatsuri’ Celebrates Girls’ Day
Rui Hachimura is no stranger to drawing on his to deliver captivating colourways, and this ‘Hinamatsuri’ rendition continues that winning formula. The Player Exclusive pays homage to Japan’s annual day of celebration of the same name – also known as Girls’ Day. Held on March 3 every year in Japan, Hinamatsuri celebrates female children by praying for their continued health and happiness.
The annual event also involves draping vibrant red materials over platforms to display ornamental dolls. And that rich visual aesthetic seems to be what’s inspired the design of this AJ35, dressed in bright reds and oranges, while gold embroidery appears all across the silhouette.
Debuting last year, the Air Jordan 35 represents the latest chapter in Jordan Brand’s continued quest for technological advancements. In their own words, the AJ35 ‘taps the technology behind the Eclipse Plate and evolves it to help unlock Zoom Air for a more responsive feeling in the heel and forefoot’.
Being a Player Exclusive design, Hachimura’s Air Jordan 35 ‘Hinamatsuri’ doesn’t seem to be getting a wider release, but we’ll let you know if that changes.
