Update September 28, 2023: The vintage 1985 Nike Dunk Highs signed by Sandy Bodecker himself have been sold. After a 6-day auction and 47 bids, the hammer has dropped at a final price of $13,400. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Bodecker Foundation.

An ultra rare pair of Nike Dunk Highs gifted by Sandy Bodecker to Rodney Tallman back in 1985 have officially hit auction. The late Sandy Bodecker, the co-founder of The Bodecker Foundation, was also Nike's legendary VP of special projects and the creative force behind Nike SB, soccer and running.

The Bodecker Foundation wrote, ‘Sandy is remembered as an innovator, a natural born leader, and a loyal friend. These shoes symbolize his enduring spirit. A portion of the auction’s proceeds will go to the Bodecker Foundation to spark young people to realize their creative power through immersive learning experiences.’

There are many legendary hallmarks to be noted with this one-of-a-kind pair, like Bodecker’s signature on the box, as well as the fact that they predate the Be True To Your School Dunk era. The listing is currently live on eBay and will be open for bids for another six days. As this listing mentions, 50 per cent of the proceeds will be directed to benefit the Bodecker Foundation. In terms of specs, the shoes are a US men’s 9 and are crafted from red leather uppers.
