Sashiko Reaches the adidas UltraBOOST 2021
Denim seems to be quite the common theme in the sneakersphere at the moment. Last year saw the , and an , plus there was a double-denim . Now, it’s turn to get in on the denim action, on none other than the !
But adidas haven’t opted for just any old denim look either, the Three Stripes has gone for Sashiko stitching to be used throughout. For the uninitiated, Sashiko is a traditional type of Japanese embroidery and stitching that is used either for reinforcement or just decorative purposes.
Similarly to many of the other UltraBOOST 2021 drops, this bad boy has arrived in PrimeBlue, which is a high-tech material made in conjunction with Parley for the Oceans. A meaningful initiative by adidas, the upper has been crafted with mostly textiles, and 75% of those textiles are made with the recycled PrimeBlue fabric. On top of the environmentally-friendly elements, the colourway is also a banger, with blue and white Sashiko stitching as the main feature. Down below, we’ve got a full-BOOST sole unit and translucent cage and heel clip to finish the look.
So far, no release details have emerged regarding the adidas UltraBOOST ‘Sashiko’ just yet, but as soon as they do we’ll be the first to let you know.
