Senior Vice President of Global Product Portia Blunt at Reebok Has Resigned
After 20 years in the sportswear industry and four years at , Portia Blunt has resigned from her position as the senior vice president of global product in order to turn her focus to her own lifestyle and fashion brand, Bee Blunt.
When Blunt first joined Reebok, she had come fresh from a director of global apparel operations role at . She started as the vice president of global apparel and creative direction at Reebok and was promoted to a senior position just last year. In this role, she oversaw the product marking, development and operations of over 37 million pairs of shoes, which is worth about $2 billion.
On Blunt's contribution to the brand, Todd Krinsky, president and CEO of Reebok, said, 'Since joining Reebok, Portia’s stewardship, passion, and integrity have been instrumental in driving our success, and I am incredibly grateful that she joined the team. I’m fully confident in her pending success with Bee Blunt and look forward to seeing her continue to inspire others and create meaningful change.'
Blunt launched Bee Blunt in 2022 with the aim to authentically represent Black culture and fashion while also heroing untold histories of Black American Culture. She says, 'The journey with Bee Blunt began in 2022, born from a desire to honor, cherish, and celebrate our collective American heritage, particularly through the lens of Black culture. These stories are told through thoughtfully designed apparel and lifestyle pieces, and there is so much we are looking forward to sharing this year.'
On her departure from Reebok, Blunt says, 'In my role at Reebok over the past four years, I have had the immense pleasure of working with some of the most talented people and I leave with a deep respect in my heart for the brand and our team'.
