Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Reveals New Converse Pro Leather Colab
The bowels of arenas used to serve a simple purpose, acting as entrance points for players, coaches and more. In 2021, however, they've become something else entirely – a makeshift fashion show runway. Players across the league love to show out as they're arriving for their games, and few do it better than Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Oklahoma City Thunder guard who's become known for his sartorial flair just as much as his on-court exploits.
Gilgeous-Alexander is a member of team , and although he's been known to take the court in a wealth of PEs, his shoes that have actually been released have all been lifestyle models. In September, they came together to drop a 'Chase the Drip' collection with new takes on the and , and now Gilgeous-Alexander has taken to his Instagram to tease a second Pro Leather colab.
The low-cut sneaker features asymmetrical overlays, warped and oversized in the vein of a x colab. This layered assemblage is done up entirely in white leather, while Gilgeous-Alexander's 'SGA' logo replaces the standard Converse hit on the lateral side. The collar lining and insole also appear to feature a custom print, while midsoles are given a platform treatment for extra heft.
Further context on his shoes are yet to come – his Instagram post is simply captioned: 'Get used to seeing SGA on the side of some converse' with a pair of emoji afterwards. There's currently no release information available, but we'll be sure to bring it your way as soon as it surfaces.
