In Simple Terms: What Is Nike React?
In the past, the most innovative sole technology focused on radical structural changes. Although we’re still seeing wild sole units like the Air , the cutting-edge of performance technology has shifted from structural engineering back to chemical science.
Nike’s new React foam ushers in a cushioning revolution. We’ve been hearing whispers of the new compound for a while now, and in the calm before the storm of 's release, we’ve got the low-down.
In the past, durable foam has either been lightweight or resilient – the new React ticks both boxes. Over hundreds of iterations, the boffins at Beaverton have fine-tuned a new chemical formula, subjecting their prototypes to thousands of hours of athletic testing.
The resulting React shoes are soft, springy, stable and unlike anything else available right now. This new technology will first appear on the React Hyperdunk 2017 Flyknit and the Super.Fly 2017. Keep your eyes peeled for more to come.
