Though their collaborative roster still includes the skate heavy hitters we've come to know and love over the past two decades, the Swoosh's skateboarding subdivision have increased their attention on community-based organizations that bring skateboarding to a wider audience and break down barriers in skate culture. The latest piece of that effort is a new , created in partnership with Skate Like A Girl and shown off in detail by .
Skate Like A Girl's mission statement is '[creating] an inclusive community by promoting confidence, leadership and social justice through skateboarding,' and they also aim to empower young women/trans individuals through the sport. This community-first ethos is displayed across the insoles of their low-cut thanks to a collage graphic and is acknowledged again on the heel with an embroidered hit that shows two arms grasping one another above the wrist.
Besides these embellishments, the Skate Like A Girl x Nike SB Dunk Low also supplies custom wavy heel text and tongue tags, the latter of which is equipped with an insole-matching upside-down Swoosh. Tongues and Swooshes feature ridged detailing, while the overall colour scheme is split between bone and burgundy with a few hits of hot red thrown in for good measure.
The official story for the Skate Like A Girl x Nike SB Dunk Low has yet to be revealed, as does its release date. However, it and other unreleased SB colabs like the are likely to touch down later this year.
