Sotheby’s ‘Cult Canvas’ Nike SB Dunk and Air Jordan 1 Auctions Expected to Fetch $200k
, prestigious auction house Sotheby’s gathered eight of the sneakers and opened bidding on them as if they were fine art, dubbing the event ‘Cult Canvas’. The lots included a pristine original example of the black and red from 1985, and the notorious Jeff Staple ‘Pigeon’ of 2005. There was also a sample edition of the ‘Paris’ SB Dunk that’s even scarcer than the 2003 retail version! Bidding has just ended, and you’ll need to sit down for the final prices.
Seven of the eight lots have disclosed their sold prices, totalling close to $130k! While the ‘Paris’ SB Dunk’s final bid amount remains unknown at time of writing, but if it meets its estimate of $70k, then the ‘Cult Canvas’ total will tip over $200k!
